In 2021, our Association worked strategically on projects and initiatives that enhance the social, economic, environmental, and heritage goals in our town. Despite another year of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, our board of directors remained committed to moving forward with our mission. On February 23, 2022, we held our AGM and this newsletter is an expansion of the Chair’s report from that meeting. Below, we summarize some of the initiatives we undertook in 2021:
· Kelly Park Community Garden Expansion – More Garden Beds for SFOA School
· Raising Food and Money for NEA Foodbank – Halloween’s Trunk or Treat
· Expanding the O’Brien Family War Monument & the Veterans Memorial – Honouring Those Who Served
· Upgrading Peter’s Path Trail
· Beginning a Community Education Program – Getting to Know Your Town
