It was a large day in the Community Garden yesterday when, gardeners and students of St. Francis of Assisi harvested our biggest crop yet, 3 times more than our last largest harvest. A whopping 369 pounds were pulled from the garden and forwarded to the North East Avalon Food Bank.
Special thanks to The Seed Company for their donation of seeds at the start of the season. https://theseedcompany.ca/ To see how this all started go to https://www.lbmcocdevelopment.org/.../sfoa-school-garden...
Thanks to all gardeners and students and to Board Member John Kennedy and Karen Youden Walsh, garden coordinatator, for their hard work all summer long in the garden and for facilitating this endeavour.
