As part of National Volunteer Week, April 24-30, our Association nominated Michelle Hickey, and Cole Inkpen to attend a celebration at Government House on Thursday, May 5th. Michelle Hickey from Outer Cove is a powerhouse volunteer serving on various committees in our town, including our Veterans Memorial Committee, and Cole Inkpen, a graphic designer of St. John’s with the firm SEM Ltd volunteers his time to develop our website.  

Her Honour, the Honorable Judy M. Foote, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, Patron for Volunteer Week in Newfoundland and Labrador, and His Honour Howard W. Foote hosted a reception for volunteers yesterday afternoon. After a warm welcome and kind and inspiring words to all volunteers, Michelle and Cole were presented with the emblem of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee by Her Honour Judy Foote for their volunteer work. The occasion was also marked by a tour of the government house and refreshments. Congratulations to Michelle and Cole!
