Sally Goddard was born and grew up in London, England, and earned a B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Marine Biology at the university in Wales. In 1987, Sally moved to Newfoundland with her family and within a week of arriving, she found her home in Logy Bay and has lived here happily ever since.
She brings expertise in education and communications from her work at The Marine Institute (now a part of MUN) as an International Programs Officer, as a research associate at the Ocean Sciences Centre, Logy Bay, as a manager in the biotechnology industry working to produce commercial products from natural sources, and finally as a professor in the Biology Department of Memorial University.
Throughout her life, both in the UK and in Newfoundland, traditional music has been an ongoing passion, and Sally has been active in the traditional music scene since the age of 16 as a soloist and member of several groups.
In May 2021, Sally retired from MUN and joined our Association in the fall as a member of the Communications and Marketing, and Project Planning Committees. She is excited to be a part of our Association which will allow her to give back to this wonderful town that she has called home for so many years.
